General Prem TinsulanondaStatesman Foundation, Rakmuangthai Foundation, Foundation for Khao Yai National Park Protection and The army are inviting you to run for health, run for strength at “Khao Yai Marathon 2019.” Run…to protect the world heritage forest of Thailand. Royal trophies by His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Queen, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and Somdet Phrachao Luk Thoe Chaofa Chulabhorn Walailak Agrarajakumari on Sunday, 1st December 2019 at Thanarat Road route and link road Khao Yai, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

It is to strengthen health through jogging, raising awareness for people to care for the environment and help protect the forest in Khao Yai National Park, the world heritage of Thailand. And to earning money for other public benefit activities further according to the foundation’s project.

Khao Yai Marathon is a spark for the people to participate in creating benefits for society and nation by bringing world-class sports mixed with raising awareness in protecting the environment. In the year 2018, the first time of the event, and it was successful. It received much attention from Marathon runner across the country. There are more than 5000 participants in Marathon, Half Marathon, Mini Marathon, and Family Run. With international competition rules according to international standards, professional medical staff along with facilitation, full service of food and beverage. It makes the participants very satisfied and be able to enjoy the atmosphere of a beautiful running path. There are landscapes suitable for tourism, so it has been voted on the WINGNAIDEE website as ranked 3rd in the best running event of the year of 2018 by runners who participated amongst more than 1,400 running events nationwide.

General Pongthep Thesapratheep, the Chairman of the Khao Yai Marathon competition committee and Secretary-General of the Statesman Foundation, said “This year’s competition is very important because it is a national level marathon competition that has been awarded trophies from His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Queen, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Somdet Phrachao Luk Thoe Chaofa Chulabhorn Walailak Agrarajakumari in a total of 7 trophies which the revenue from this event will be used to support public charitable activities following projects of all 3 foundations in creating benefits for society and the nation.”

There are 7,710 participants in the competition at Khao Yai Marathon 2019. Divided male and female running into 5 categories as follows 1. Marathon 42.195 kilometers, has 1,073 participants 2. Half Marathon 21.1 kilometers, has 2,227 participants 3. Mini-Marathon 10.5 kilometers, has 2,098 participants 4. Family Run, 4.2 kilometers, has 488 participants 5. Run for Health, distance 4.2 kilometers, has 1,596 participants. This program does not divide the age and gender.

Trophies and rewards are as follows:
1. Marathon (Men / Women) Overall Winner of the Royal trophies by His Majesty the King with the prize money of 10,000 baht. The winner of the men’s marathon is Sergeant Thanatip Dijim (Takes 2 hours 43 minutes). The winner of the women’s marathon is Ms. Rajasirin Nueaichob (Takes 3 hours 45 minutes).

2. Half Marathon (Male / Female) Overall Winner of the Royal trophies by Her Majesty the Queen with the prize money of 8,000 baht. The winner of the men’s Half-Marathon is Mr. Wong Bowonphasdi(Takes 1 hour 16 minutes). The female Half-Marathon winner is Miss Saiyaporn Saengthong(Takes 1 hour 44 minutes).

3. Mini-Marathon (Men / Women) Overall Winner of the Royal trophies by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn with the prize money of 8,000 baht. The winner of the men’s Mini-Marathon is Mr. Thanarat Kamchae (Takes 37 minutes). The winner of the women’s Mini-Marathon is Miss Dolaya Chukdi(Takes 44.28 minutes).

4. Family Run (family, father/mother/child +1, a total of 4 persons) need to run to the finish line at the same time. Winner of the Royal trophies Somdet Phrachao Luk Thoe Chaofa Chulabhorn Walailak Agrarajakumari with the prize money of 8,000 baht. The winner of Family Run is Ms. Chonthicha Pranchong: mother(Takes 20.03 minutes), Master Achirawit Manklang: son (Takes 20.04 minutes), Master Natthaphon Manklang: son(Takes 20.06 minutes), Master Patcharapon Pranchong: grandchild(Takes 20.07 minutes).

The medal of the competition will be symbolized as 5 kinds of animals such as elephant, hornbill, deer, bull, and tiger, respectively. The medal’s symbol in the year 2018 is an “Elephant,” and the medal’s symbol in the year 2019 is a “Hornbill.” After collecting all 5 animal medals. You will receive The World Heritage Logo medal.

The head side of the coin is a picture of animals in Khao Yai. Competitors who finish the finish line at placed 1st to 5th of all age groups in Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Family Run will receive the trophies. Besides, all runners in the Marathon and Half Marathon runners who reach the finish line will receive a souvenir medal with a “Finisher” shirt and souvenirs.

General Ninnart Beaokhaimook, as a Racing and Technical committee, said, “For the highlights from the race is at the marathon 42.195 kilometers. The running routes in Toscana Valley Khao Yai about 5-6 kilometers will experience nature and see the replica of the leaning tower of Pisa that makes you feel like running in Italy. Data shows that most runners are runners from Bangkok, followed by runners from Nakhon Ratchasima, Chon Buri, and other provinces. The event area has many activities such as an organic agriculture exhibition from Wang Nam Khiao District, including musical activities from the Special Warfare Command Unit.

There are also booths selling special products such as products from community enterprise stores, Nakhon Ratchasima Chamber of Commerce’s member products, OTOP products, and SME products. The catering on events is sponsored by the Department of Logistics, Army Including from CP Charoen Pokphand Group. The food served at the party were shrimp dumplings, dumplings, and jungle coffee. Besides, various departments, Including local communities In Nakhon Ratchasima have compiled a delicious food, drinking water to support the events.
The success of this event is possible because of excellent cooperation from government and private agencies such as Local organizations, Mou Si Municipality, employees from Ritta Company Limited, Krung Thai Bank, Charoen Pokphand leadership institute, Toscana Valley Khao Yai, Kremaya golf, resort, and spa, etc., which the local community has cooperated very well. All 7 schools in the Mu Si municipality area together built the grandstand to cheer runners and help with the cleaning before and after the end of the event.
